Document description

RD-58 provides guidance to licensees with respect to developing a thyroid screening program for volatile radioiodines.
RD-58 may be used by licensees to develop a thyroid screening program for workers handling volatile radioiodines, which may be required by licence conditions. Further to the licence conditions, this document includes recommendations for participation in the screening program, instrument selection, the screening method, monitoring periods, and validation procedures.
