Transport Canada and CNSC Memorandum of Understanding

In 2007, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and Transport Canada renewed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU updates the previous arrangements in place and reflects current legislation, policies, programs, methods and processes governing the safe transport of radioactive material in Canada.

The CNSC and Transport Canada each have statutory obligations under the Nuclear Safety and Control Act and the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, respectively, for regulating the transport of radioactive material in Canada.
