On July 12, 2011, the Ontario Ministry of Labour (MoL) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) related to workplace health and safety at Ontario’s three nuclear power plants. Both the federal and provincial government share responsibility for regulating workplace health and safety at the province’s Bruce, Darlington and Pickering power plants. The CNSC oversees matters related to the Nuclear Safety and Control Act, including licensing and radiation exposure, while the Ontario Ministry of Labour is accountable for issues of occupational health and safety.
