In January 2008, the CNSC hosted a workshop on the assessment and control of tritium’s health risk. The main objective of the workshop was to gather several experts in an open forum, and to provide the public, stakeholders and CNSC staff with the opportunity to ask questions on the health risks of tritium and the means by which it is controlled. Experts in the field were invited to give a presentation and discuss the current science and basis of radiation protection.
