Webinar: Darlington Waste Management Facility Licence Renewal

Join us on November 9, 2022, for a webinar on the Darlington Waste Management Facility (DWMF) licence renewal application

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) Inc. is the owner and operator of the DWMF. The facility is located on the site of the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station (DNGS), in the Municipality of Clarington, Ontario. The DWMF receives, processes and stores dry storage containers containing used nuclear fuel (high-level radioactive waste) generated at the DNGS, and stores intermediate-level radioactive waste from the Darlington Refurbishment Project.

In December 2021, OPG submitted their application to renew its DWMF waste facility operating licence, which will expire on April 30, 2023.

The purpose of this webinar is to:

  • familiarize the public with the DWMF and its activities
  • discuss the CNSC’s licensing process
  • discuss OPG’s licence application
  • answer questions from members of the public
