CNSC Quiz – Instructions and Teacher Resources

The CNSC Quiz is one of several games and puzzles in the CNSC's educational resources aimed at students aged 14–18. The aim of the game is to learn more about the CNSC by correctly answering six multiple-choice questions.

This page provides instructions for both mouse and keyboard players, including tips for players using screen readers, as well as PDF game versions that can be printed and played in a classroom. The answers are under "Teacher resources".

Mouse instructions

Tip: The player can increase the size of the text by selecting Control + or decrease it by selecting Control −. The player may also exit at any time by selecting Close at the top of the screen.

Below this image is the first question and the possible answers. The player answers the question by clicking one of the answers. If the answer is right, the player clicks on the message that says it's right. The next question then appears on a new page, and the player tries to answer it and the rest of the questions in the same way.

If the answer is wrong, a message prompts the player to try again. The player then clicks on another choice.

There may be more than one answer to one question. If so, the player keeps clicking more options until they get the right answer.

When the player has figured out all the answers, the girl and boy say "Congratulations!"

The page shows the number of attempts the player made to answer the questions, as well as the total time it took to complete the quiz.

And the player is informed that they are well on their way to becoming a junior nuclear safety representative.

Each student can also type their name in the space provided and select Print or Enter to print the results to hand in to the teacher.

Keyboard instructions

To play the game using the keyboard, the student uses the Tab, Shift+Tab and Enter keys. The player can also increase the size of the text by selecting Control + or decrease it by selecting Control −. The player may exit at any time by selecting the Esc key.

Below this image is the first question and the possible answers. To answer, the player tabs to a choice and then selects Enter. If the answer is right, a green checkmark appears beside the answer and a message tells the player the answer is right. The player tabs to the message and selects Enter. The next question then appears on a new page.

If the answer is wrong, a red X is displayed beside the answer and a message tells the player: "Whoops, that's not it! Try again…" The player keeps tabbing until they get the right answer.

There may be more than one answer to one question. If so, the player keeps tabbing to and selecting more options until they get the right answer.

When the player has figured out all the answers, the last page appears, and the girl and boy say "Congratulations!"
