Draft Environmental Assessment Guidelines – Proposal by GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. to Manufacture Low Enriched Uranium Fuel Bundles, Peterborough Ontario

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) invites public comment on the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) Guidelines for the proposal by GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. (GE-Hitachi) to manufacture low enriched uranium fuel bundles at the GE-Hitachi Peterborough facility, in Peterborough, Ontario.

Copies of the Draft EA guidelines and information on the project are available upon request, and at the following locations:

Interested parties should address their written comments to CNSC environmental assessment project manager at the address indicated below. The public comment period ends February 22, 2008. CNSC staff will review comments and address all comments received before finalizing the proposed EA guidelines and submitting them to the Commission for consideration. All comments received regarding the EA guidelines are considered public information.
