Summary

REGDOC-2.7.3, Radiation Protection Guidelines for the Safe Handling of Decedents, was developed to provide death-care professionals and the public with basic guidance on handling decedents who have undergone therapeutic procedures involving nuclear substances to ensure that radiation exposure is kept below limits that have been set to protect the public. Background information is provided on procedure types, the risks they present and methods for reducing the potential for exposure.
